Subject: June 29th Ray update...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet Mom today too!!

Hi all
Sorry it has been SEVERAL days since an update! Ray was released last Friday June 22nd, today is Friday June 29th...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet Mom-a great mom and mother-in-law, Ray and I love you mom!
Ray had a GREAT week out of the hospital. The first night in the apartment he said he slept SO GOOD! He was so happy to have a comfortable bed and quiet....well as quiet as it can be with both the kids there! but he enjoyed every sound they made, well almost everyone-maybe not the bickering! They kept us very busy which also made it hard to email daily! and my GMAIL Ray updates are someone HIDDEN and Ray and I are working on that!!
We all had a GREAT family week together. I cooked, the kids swam in the pool everyday, we made a trip to super target, a few other trips out of the house, Ray walked around the apartment complex, went and watched the kids at the pool, etc...
Monday he had his first clinic appointment at Duke since being released and then again on Thursday the 28th. Both visits were good and they are PLEASED and AMAZED with how Ray is doing! Lab results continue to be better and better each time. Liver numbers are almost NORMAL, billirubin is down and creatine is way down! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!
We go back to clinic again Monday AM.

Ray is feeling pretty good, still some pain and discomfort and more during other times than others. He has had some back pain but I think it is just from sitting and laying the same way for almost 2 weeks now....he likes to sleep on his side and stomach, which aren't options right now!! They staring him on lasics Monday so he is losing fluid weight EVERYDAY! He is happy and can't wait to see the NEW RAY once all the fluid is gone!

Last night was the Golden Corral fundraiser and it was AMAZING!! SO MANY came out to support our family, it was SO COOL and humbling. I can't thank everyone enough. Lots bought t-shirts and hopefully now everyone has the blogspot and can keep up with Rays progress through that. www.rcb2ndchance.blogspot.com I hope that the July 21st event can be EVEN BIGGER AND EVEN BETTER than last night was.

A HUGE thank you to Golden Corral, Curtis and Dave and ALL their staff who helped us last night. We all enjoyed it and loved the new people we met who helped us all learn how to serve, clean, scrape plates, etc....it is HARD WORK!

Another big thank you to Marley, Christy and Dad who helped the event go off without a hitch! It was ALL PERFECT and I know you all worked SO HARD!

Thanks to Brandon for the great banners and signs-they were great and for Kevin Littleton for hanging the banner  AND babysitting Ray last night in Durham so I could come back to be a part of the evening!

Thanks to Jen for the balloons and red cross handouts....the balloons helped make the atmosphere!

A BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU to all my AES co-workers who CAME TO WORK and SERVE...I love you all and THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for coming to do that, you all did a GREAT job.

THANKS too for all the AES angels who came out to EAT and TIP too, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and just for everyone who came out, supported us, tipped and just showed your love, concern and kindness in a BIG BIG way. Almost everyone said they had and were praying for Ray-I know it and it worked! Keep the prayers coming. I hope if someone didn't believe in God before and they hear Rays miraculous story that they will re-examine their beliefs.

So thanks everyone! SO FAR SO GOOD, the Lord is continuing to provide and look after Ray and the family in a BIG way!
